Masters Coaching taught me that becoming a highly competitive rower was not out of my realm of possibilities. I was instructed thoughtfully; I was encouraged to ask questions; and I had so much fun that I was sad to see it all come to an end. If this were a yearly thing, I would look forward to it the same way I look forward to my favorite holidays.

MastersCoaching offers opportunities for rowers to improve their technique, receive positive individual coaching, gain confidence as well as tools to build on success, in a safe and fun environment.

MastersCoaching provides a model for the very best of competitive rowing. MastersCoaching endeavors to provide a nurturing culture and climate that encourages and empowers each athlete to be the best she can be – as an individual rower as well as a team member. The strength of MastersCoaching is in its rowers; and while the logical outcome and goal of MastersCoaching is winning, we also strive for belief in self and trust in teammates.

How do I get to race with MastersCoaching?

1.     Clinic participation is required

2.      The following factors are weighed in combination both

subjectively and objectively by the coaching staff:

·      skill

·      attitude

·      fitness

·      experience

·      erg scores

·      seat racing

At major regattas the majority of line-ups will be based on common skill levels, but could be impacted by age group averaging and other factors.

MastersCoaching participation in smaller regattas allows skill level mixtures that are fundamentally based on winning and giving those with less experience opportunities to race.

While clinic participation is the first requirement to be considered for racing, it does not earn a rower automatic participation.
